Film Industry Orientation
Course Description:
In this module, learners will be introduced to the world of film & television production, including the customs and expected protocols of working on and around a film set. The content of this module will help set the tone of professionalism for new members of the industry by exposing learners to the values and practices of film & television production. Topics covered include phases of production, production and crew hierarchy, modes of communication, walkie practices, safety, and potential hazards. Emphasis is placed on the common dos and don’ts for on-set behaviour, including how those actions relate to all the module topics. Additionally, the module will provide an overview of unions, guilds and industry organizations, along with next steps and employment pathways.
